WORLD OF MATHS- TERM 4

Year 4 had a great "mathematical" experience this term, with each child participating in the World Of Maths inservice. This was a wonderful way to experience "hands on" problem solving, using teams of students to collaborate together to solve the various questions presented. Below are some photos of the Year 4 students and parents participating in the activities. We thank Mrs Morris for organising this experience for us.

GEORGIA O'KEEFE INSPIRED ARTWORKS WITH MRS WEST

In class, we have been looking at the talented Georgia O'Keefe and her nature inspired artworks, particularly those that are based on flowers. We all created our own version of a flower artwork, using the techniques of overlapping, hot/cold colours and size. We hope you enjoy looking at our creations.

ONE WITH GOD'S CREATION

In Term Three, Year 4 have been learning about God's creation and researching ways we can care for the environment and all living things that are part of this world. In Religious Literacy, we listened to the various scriptural stories about caring for God's creation and we created Thanksgiving Prayers to express our thoughts and feelings about this wonderful world.
In Week 10, we held an assembly and shared our ideas with the Primary classes and our parents.
Below is a copy of part of our PowerPoint presentation to the school. These are photos of what each person in 4 Gold created for our Task B section of religious literacy.

INDIGENOUS EDUCATION

Throughout the year, we have been learning about Indigenous Culture, especially the importance of nature and people in the indigenous stories, artwork and music. 4 Gold visited Mrs Grados in the St John's community room to hear Dreaming Stories and to look at indigenous artworks made by the children of St Johns.

JOHN THERRY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

On Wednesday 17th June, Year 4 were very excited to be attending a performance of a production of High School Musical at John Therry. The show was amazing and the Year 4 students thoroughly enjoyed it!

We would like to thank the staff and students of John Therry for inviting us.

A VOLCANO AT ST JOHNS!!

Aleks was very interested in how a volcano works, so he created a volcano experiment to show the class his research. We all had fun watching the volcano erupt !!

ART WITH MRS RYAN

During our time with Mrs Ryan in the art room, we have made some beautiful birds that link with our environment. Our birds are now proudly hanging outside the Year 4 classrooms, where they are "interacting" in the environment of our school.
See below the progress we made with our bird creations.
