WELCOME TO 4 GOLD TERM 2

WELCOME TO 4 GOLD TERM 2

We have had a great start to the term. During our first week, we learnt about the 100 year commemoration of ANZAC day. We researched lots of interesting facts and read some wonderful books about ANZAC day, Gallipoli and Servicemen and Women.

These are some of the books we read:

We responded to these books in a wide variety of ways. Here are pictures of our display wall with close up photos of some of our writing.

We also learnt how to sketch using a variety of lead pencils. We sketched from an image of an ANZAC soldier and then turned our pencil sketches into a sepia image that looks like the old photographs from the early 1900's. Here are some of our artworks that are on display in our classroom.

Of course ANZAC day would not be the same without ANZAC biscuits.  A big thank you to Jordan P's Grandmother who made us these yummy biscuits.

On Sunday the 10th May, it was Mothers Day. Our class made some lovely calendars to give to our mums. We took a photo of ourselves to add to the calendar. Here we are wishing our mums a wonderful Mothers Day….
